EveMotion Shades: Perfect Automation with Matter over Thread

I wanted to share my experience with EveMotion motorized roller shades and Matter over Thread. Last April, I installed these shades and upgraded them to Matter over Thread. The process was a bit challenging, but the result has been fantastic! My shades have been operating perfectly, and my automations, driven by Hubitat and routing through the Echo Hub as a Thread Border Router, are working seamlessly. For example, the shades close automatically mid-day based on weather conditions. It’s amazing how smooth everything runs.

However, in the past couple of weeks, I’ve noticed the shades becoming unresponsive occasionally. When I check the Alexa app, they show a red error: ‘Device is Unresponsive.’ Rebooting the Echo Hub doesn’t immediately fix the issue, but they do come back online after about 10-15 minutes. Interestingly, manually operating them with the pull-cord switch seems to help them reconnect. I’m curious if others are experiencing similar issues, especially those using EveMotion blinds with Matter over Thread and an Echo Hub as TBR. Or perhaps those using an Apple HomePod as their TBR? I’d love to hear if there are any troubleshooting tips or insights from Matter over Thread experts. Thanks in advance for any advice!
