Exciting Govee Smart Plug and Motion Sensor Setup!

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience setting up a Govee Smart Plug Pro along with a Govee Motion Sensor. It’s been a game-changer for my basement lighting! :rocket:

I’ve always wanted my under-cabinet lights to turn on automatically when I walk in, but I didn’t want to run wires all over the place. After some research, I decided to go with the Govee Motion Sensor (H5121) and pair it with the Govee Smart Plug Pro (H5085). The setup was surprisingly straightforward, and the range is impressive—over 20 feet even through a couple of walls!

Here’s how I set it up:

  1. Plugged the Govee LED strip into the Smart Plug.
  2. Paired both devices with my Alexa app.
  3. Created a routine where motion detected by the sensor triggers the plug to turn on.
  4. Added a timer to turn the lights off after 10 minutes of inactivity.

The best part? I can control everything from my phone or through voice commands. It’s like having a personal lighting assistant down there! :man::wrench:

I also love how sleek and compact these devices are. They don’t take up much space, and the LED strip adds a nice ambiance without being too harsh. Plus, the fact that they’re compatible with Alexa makes integration with my existing smart home setup a breeze.

If you’re looking to add some smart lighting without the hassle of rewiring, I’d highly recommend checking out Govee’s products. They’ve really stepped up their game with these affordable yet reliable devices! :bulb::sparkles:

Anybody else using Govee products? I’d love to hear your experiences and tips!
