The release of Zigbee PRO 2023 has brought some exciting updates that I think are worth sharing with the community!
I recently came across some detailed information about the new features, and I’m really impressed by the focus on security and network reliability. One of the standout improvements is the enhanced security framework. Features like Dynamic Link Key and Device Interview sound like they’ll make our smart home networks even more robust. Dynamic Link Key, which uses Public/Private key pairing, is a significant step forward in protecting against network attacks. Plus, the ability to query and filter devices before they join the network (Device Interview) adds an extra layer of control and security.Another thing that caught my attention is the introduction of additional frequencies that don’t interfere with Wi-Fi. While this might not be immediately compatible with all existing devices, it’s a promising step toward more reliable communication in the future. I’m particularly interested in the long-term benefits this could bring, especially for energy monitoring and smart meter integration. The Works with All Hubs feature is also a big win. It helps devices find the most suitable parent for joining or rejoining the network, which should improve overall network resilience. This is especially useful for those of us with complex setups or multiple hubs.I’m curious to hear how others feel about these updates. Have you noticed any improvements in your network since upgrading to Zigbee PRO 2023? I’d love to hear your experiences and thoughts on how these new features might impact our smart home setups in the coming years. Let’s keep the discussion going! ![]()
