Exciting New Govee Light Strips and My Recent Update Journey

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience with the Govee light strips and the update journey that went along with it. First off, I’m absolutely thrilled with the new Govee light strips I’ve been using. The vibrant colors and smooth transitions are just amazing, and they’ve completely transformed the ambiance of my living room. I recently came across the Govee light strips on Amazon, priced at $85.99, and decided to give them a try. I’m so glad I did!

However, my journey wasn’t without a few bumps. I’ve been waiting for the v3.8.0 update for ages, and I almost missed it! I was out driving for about five hours, and by the time I got home, the update was live. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any Govee devices in my room except for three lightbulbs I had brought along. I couldn’t believe I didn’t notice the update earlier! But the good news is, I remembered to redeem my points and ended up getting another 32ft light strip for my hood room. I’m super excited to test out the new dream color update tomorrow—it’s going to be so much fun!

I’ve been using my Vera I as a fun side project, experimenting with converting it into a router-only device. I’ve looked into loading some open-source router programs on it, and it’s been a great learning experience. I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried something similar or has any tips for making the most out of older Vera units.

On a different note, I’ve been dealing with some camera alerts that are a bit too sensitive. My cameras keep sending alerts for motion detected, but it’s usually just tree branches moving in the wind. It’s a bit frustrating, but I’m hoping there’s a way to adjust the sensitivity or filter out these false alerts. I’d appreciate any advice from the community on how to tackle this issue.

Overall, I’m really enjoying the flexibility and creativity that comes with setting up a smart home. It’s been a great way to personalize my space and make everyday tasks a bit more convenient. I’d love to hear about everyone’s experiences and any tips or tricks they’ve picked up along the way!
