Hello everyone!
I’m thrilled to share my recent smart camera setup journey and a helpful tip I discovered regarding the Yahoo Weather API. Let me walk you through it!
Smart Camera Project
I’ve recently installed a Wyze Cam v3 outdoor camera, and I’m absolutely delighted with its performance! To make it even more eco-friendly, I decided to power it using a solar panel. After some research, I found a reliable solar panel with a built-in battery that provides a stable 3.5V output. The camera runs perfectly without any issues, and I’m happy to report that there’s no damage to the device. The low voltage works seamlessly, and the camera even manages without infrared at night, which is a great energy-saving feature!
Weather API Update
Another exciting update I wanted to share is about the Yahoo Weather API. I noticed that the RSS feed had changed and now requires OAuth. After some digging, I discovered that simply updating the URL to http://xml.weather.yahoo.com/forecastrss?w=729139&u=c resolved the issue. I thought I’d share this in case anyone else was experiencing similar frustration. It’s always great to help each other out in the community! ![]()
