Hello everyone, I’m thrilled to share my recent journey into the world of Arduino and smart home integration. As a newcomer to this fascinating field, I’ve been diving into the Arduino Shield, which I recently purchased. While waiting for it to arrive, I’ve been scouring the web for tutorials and demos to get a head start. I stumbled upon some excellent resources that have been incredibly helpful in understanding the basics and beyond. If anyone has additional recommendations or favorite tutorials, I’d love to hear about them!
Another topic that’s been on my mind is the integration of smart devices. I’ve been experimenting with setting up a timer for my espresso maker, which is triggered by a routine in the morning. However, I’ve encountered a challenge in automatically turning it off after a set period. I came across a forum discussion about the ‘Power Allowance’ Smart app, which seemed promising, but I couldn’t locate it in the marketplace. After some research, I found an alternative solution using the Toggle-Me app, which has been working wonders. It’s amazing how the community here shares such valuable insights and solutions!
I’m also curious about the support for new Sonoff Zigbee devices. From what I gather, they should be compatible with existing Zigbee setups, which is exciting. I’m planning to incorporate them into my smart home ecosystem, possibly replacing some Xiaomi devices. It would be fantastic to hear from others who have experience with these devices and how they’ve integrated them.
Lastly, I wanted to touch on the Venstar thermostat issue. I’ve been working on getting fractional Celsius temperatures to display correctly. While I’ve managed to get the current temperature to show with precision, adjusting the temperature via the UI has been a bit tricky. It always snaps back to a whole number. I’m hopeful that with some tweaking and guidance from the community, I can resolve this and have a seamless experience.
Overall, it’s been an enlightening journey, filled with learning and problem-solving. The support from this community has been invaluable, and I’m eager to contribute more as I grow in this space. Thanks to everyone for their insights and assistance!
