Hello everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home devices lately, and I’ve come across a few interesting challenges and questions that I’d love to share with the community.
First off, I’ve been trying to figure out how to check if a device is battery-powered using LUUP. I want to write a function that can identify battery-powered devices and monitor their battery levels. However, I’ve noticed that luup.devices doesn’t list BatteryLevel or BatteryDate, which makes it a bit tricky. If anyone has any ideas or workarounds, I’d be really grateful!
Speaking of firmware, I came across a blog post about Wyze Cam RTSP firmware earlier this year. It mentioned that RTSP was a beta feature and that the firmware versions were quite outdated. The blog indicated that the firmware files had been removed, but it seemed like the RTSP firmware was still publicly available. However, the link provided in the blog is now dead. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I’m curious if there’s a way to access the RTSP firmware or if there are any updates from Wyze regarding this matter.
Another thing I’ve been experimenting with is OpenHAB. I recently tried to change the label of a Thing, but I kept getting an error message in my info log. No matter which browser I tried or how many times I rebooted, the issue persisted. It was frustrating because I couldn’t save or change anything. I eventually found a workaround by resetting the network settings, but I’m still not entirely sure what caused the problem in the first place. If anyone has encountered a similar issue or has some insights, I’d love to hear about it!
Lastly, I’ve been thinking about how to integrate multiple brands of smart devices into one cohesive system. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’ve found that the community support here has been invaluable. Whether it’s troubleshooting firmware issues, understanding device capabilities, or sharing tips, the discussions here really help me navigate the smart home ecosystem.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on these topics or any other experiences you’ve had with smart devices. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other make the most out of our smart homes! ![]()
