I’ve always been fascinated by the possibilities of integrating smart lighting into everyday objects, and recently, I’ve been brainstorming a fun project involving my electric skateboard. I came across the Govee Light Strip and thought it would be perfect for adding some flair to my ride, but I wanted to make sure it met all my specific needs.
Here’s what I envisioned: a 6ft light strip that could wrap around the entire length of the skateboard deck. It needed to be waterproof with an IP67 rating to handle any weather conditions, and I wanted it to be 3M adhesive-based for a secure attachment without damaging the board. The strip should be powered via the board’s USB port and controlled through the Govee app for ease of use on the go.
I also had my heart set on DreamColor for its vibrant multi-color options, and I wanted the lights to be music-syncable. This would require the app to detect music playing through Bluetooth—even if it’s not playing aloud—and sync the lights accordingly. While this feature might be a bit tricky to implement, I’m excited to see if the community has any innovative solutions or workarounds.
