Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into custom Lovelace cards lately and wanted to share my experience. I recently came across a Fitbit-inspired custom card design and decided to give it a try. The setup involved creating a custom markdown card with various sensors and icons, all neatly arranged on a single dashboard. It’s been a fun project, but not without its challenges!
One issue I encountered was the card not showing up in the Home Assistant Companion App. After some troubleshooting, I realized it was a connectivity problem. The app couldn’t connect to Home Assistant, even though everything worked smoothly in Chrome. I managed to fix it by ensuring the companion app was updated and the Home Assistant server was properly configured.
Another thing I noticed was that the icon colors weren’t displaying as expected. I had to manually set the color values in the card configuration since the default theme wasn’t applying. It was a bit of a hassle, but the final result was worth it!
