Exploring Device Compatibility Across Regions

Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation and ran into an interesting challenge that I thought I’d share with you. I’m currently in Canada but have come across some fantastic Qubino 0-10V dimmers that are only available in Europe. These dimmers are perfect for controlling the motor speed of my ventilation system, but I’m wondering if I can integrate them into my existing setup without any issues.

Here’s the setup: I’m using a NA version of the Hubitat C7 hub, which has been working great so far. I’ve heard that the C7 hub is quite versatile, but I’m not entirely sure how it handles devices from different regions, especially when it comes to Z-Wave frequencies. My main questions are:

  1. Is it possible to pair a new EU version C7 hub with my existing NA version hub? I’m thinking of using the EU hub solely for the Qubino dimmers to avoid any conflicts.
  2. Will a US power adapter work seamlessly with the EU hub, or do I need to make any adjustments?
  3. Can I manage all my automations through the NA hub, or will I need to switch between hubs depending on the devices I’m controlling?

I’ve done some research and it seems like others have successfully integrated devices from different regions, but I want to make sure I’m not overlooking anything. Compatibility is key here, and I’d hate to run into any issues down the line. If anyone has experience with mixing EU and NA devices or has any tips on ensuring smooth integration, I’d love to hear from you!

On a lighter note, it’s amazing how technology allows us to mix and match devices from around the world. It really shows how interconnected the smart home ecosystem is becoming. I’m excited to see how this project unfolds and can’t wait to share my progress with you all!

Best regards,
