Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of dynamic electricity rates and smart home security lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with you all.
Starting with dynamic electricity rates, I’ve been trying to integrate this into my OpenHAB setup to optimize my energy consumption. I initially used the JSON API from Engie, but it stopped working a few months ago. I’ve been struggling to figure out what additional inputs are needed, and the helpdesk hasn’t been much help. I switched to using an online Excel file that gets updated daily, but I’m not sure how to read this file in a rule. Does anyone have any tips or examples on how to do this? I’d really appreciate it!
Moving on to smart locks, I’ve been researching the most popular ones that work with Hubitat Elevation. From what I’ve gathered, the Kwikset Home Connect 700 series and Yale locks seem to be top choices. I’m curious about others’ experiences—have you had any issues with these locks, or do you have a favorite that’s not on the list? I’d love to hear your feedback!
On a lighter note, I stumbled upon a really cool widget for monitoring my washing machine. It shows the current state and how long it’s been running. It’s super customizable, and I even added a dryer mode with a different color scheme. It’s been a fun project, and I thought I’d share it with the community in case anyone else is into home appliance automation!
Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with grouping my cameras for easier monitoring. I’ve heard it’s possible but haven’t quite figured out the best way to set it up. If anyone has tips or tricks, I’d be grateful for the guidance!
Overall, I’m loving the journey of integrating smarter technologies into my home, and I’m excited to hear your thoughts and experiences on these topics. Let’s keep the conversation going!
