Hey everyone, I’ve noticed some interesting changes with Google Assistant’s voice commands lately. For instance, I used to say, “open the office drapes,” but now it seems I have to say, “turn on the office drapes.” It’s a small change, but it caught my attention. I wonder if others are experiencing this too?
Another thing I’ve noticed is that sometimes if I omit the word “the” in my commands, Google Assistant might not recognize the device. For example, saying “turn on office drapes” instead of “turn on the office drapes” occasionally results in a message saying the device isn’t set up. However, this seems to be inconsistent. Just the other day, I tested it without “the,” and it worked perfectly. It’s a bit puzzling!
I’d love to hear if anyone else is noticing these behaviors. Are there specific devices or scenarios where this happens more frequently? Maybe there’s a pattern or a workaround I haven’t discovered yet.
In the meantime, I’m trying to adapt to these changes and see if they improve over time. It’s all part of the journey with smart home technology, right? ![]()
If anyone has insights or tips on optimizing voice commands, I’d be grateful to hear them. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other navigate these updates!
