Hi everyone, I’m really excited to share my experience with the new SmartThings to Google Cloud Pub/Sub connector! I recently came across this project and decided to give it a try. The idea of having a central hub for all my SmartThings data is incredibly appealing, especially for integrating with other services like Slack for alerts and Splunk for analysis.
The setup was straightforward, and I was impressed by how seamless the integration was. Google Cloud’s pricing model is another big plus—free up to 10GB of traffic, which seems more than enough for most SmartThings users. Even if you exceed that, the cost is minimal, making it a cost-effective solution.
I’ve been using this connector for a week now, and it’s been rock solid. It’s allowed me to automate routines in ways I hadn’t considered before. For example, I now get real-time notifications on Slack when certain devices are triggered, which has been incredibly helpful.
If you’re looking to enhance your SmartThings setup with more advanced automation and data handling, I’d highly recommend checking out this connector. The GitHub link is provided in the original post, and the community support seems strong. Happy tinkering!
