Hi everyone, I’m thrilled to share my journey into the world of home automation!
I’ve been a user of Govee devices for almost two months now, and I must say, they’ve completely transformed my living space. The ability to control lighting from my phone has been a game-changer, especially with the recent addition of 33 feet of my favorite lights! The order arrived surprisingly fast, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. A huge thank you to Govee for making this experience so seamless!
Recently, I’ve also been exploring the capabilities of Wyze cameras, particularly their potential for wildfire detection. Given the frequent brush fires in my area, I’m intrigued by the idea of using the camera’s IR sensitivity to detect ignition events. It’s a fascinating concept that could provide an early warning system, giving residents more time to evacuate. I’ve been researching spectral characteristics and IR filters, and it seems like a promising avenue to explore further.
I’m also curious about integrating other devices, like the Philips Hue, into my setup. While I’ve managed to control the lights through the web interface, getting them to work seamlessly in the iOS app has been a bit of a challenge. I created a QuickApp, but it only appears in the app without functionality. I’m eager to hear if anyone has encountered similar issues or has tips for resolving them.
In addition to these explorations, I’ve been experimenting with backup solutions for my system. The thought of automatically storing backups in Dropbox, similar to how it’s done with Google Drive or OneDrive, is appealing. I’d love to hear if others have managed to set this up or have alternative solutions for reliable backups.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to dive deeper into the world of DIY projects and automation. The idea of participating in a themed DIY series challenge sounds like a fantastic way to engage with the community and learn from others. Whether it’s creating a lightning bolt-themed setup or exploring other creative ideas, I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get started!
Thank you all for being part of this incredible community. Let’s continue to inspire and support each other as we navigate the exciting world of home automation! ![]()
