Exploring Govee and Wyze Integration Tips

Hello all, I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting and security lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips that might help others on their journey. :rocket:

First off, I’ve been absolutely thrilled with my Govee smart lights. The ability to set custom scenes and schedules has completely transformed how I use lighting in my home. However, I did run into an interesting issue with the brightness levels. Initially, I noticed that setting the brightness below 40% resulted in an almost-off state, which was quite frustrating. After some research and reaching out to the community, I found that this was a common issue with some firmware versions. A simple update later, and everything works smoothly now! :star2:

On the security front, I’ve been experimenting with the Wyze Cam Floodlight V2. The integration with Home Assistant has been seamless, and I love how it combines security with smart lighting. One tip I’d like to share is about the camera’s idle time. By default, it returns to its default position after 15 seconds of inactivity, which can sometimes miss extended motion. I discovered that adjusting this setting in the Wyze app allows for a longer idle time, ensuring I don’t miss any activity. :male_detective:

For those looking to integrate multiple brands, I’ve found that using OpenHAB as a hub has been incredibly powerful. It allows me to centralize all my devices, from Govee lights to Wyze cameras, into one intuitive interface. The learning curve was a bit steep, but the community resources and documentation are fantastic. :books:

I’d love to hear from others about their experiences with integrating different smart devices. Have you found any particularly useful tips or workarounds? Let’s keep the conversation flowing! :handshake:
