The holiday season is always a great time to experiment with smart home devices, and this year I’ve been having a blast with my new Govee Christmas lights! 
These lights are incredibly versatile, and I’ve been using them to create different lighting scenes throughout my home. From a warm glow in the living room to a vibrant display in the hallway, the color settings and brightness adjustments have been a joy to play with.
One feature I particularly love is the ability to control them through my Home Assistant setup. I’ve paired them with a Shelly 1 mini switch to automate the lights based on motion detected in the hallway. Now, whenever someone walks by, the lights automatically turn on and cycle through festive colors, creating a welcoming atmosphere without any manual intervention. It’s these small automations that really make the smart home experience shine!
