Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation recently, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and insights. Lately, I’ve been really impressed with the Govee humidifier. It’s not just a basic humidifier—it also features RGB lights and Bluetooth connectivity, which adds a nice touch of ambiance to my living space. Pairing it with a Govee hygroscope has been a game-changer for maintaining optimal humidity levels in my home. 
Another project I’ve been working on is integrating the NowCast algorithm into my Home Assistant setup. For those who aren’t familiar, NowCast is used to predict air quality based on recent measurements. I’ve managed to pull in hourly AQI data from a local sensor and run it through a Jinja2 template to calculate the NowCast value. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but seeing the results in real-time is really satisfying! 
I’ve also been troubleshooting my Frigate setup, which stopped working a few weeks ago. After some digging, I realized it was a configuration issue with the ffmpeg commands. Fixing it involved adjusting the input paths and ensuring the RTMP server was properly configured. It’s frustrating when things break, but it’s so rewarding to get everything working again. 
Lastly, I’ve been exploring how to integrate my Alexa devices with my security cameras. Specifically, I wanted Alexa to announce when my Blink cameras detect motion. After some research, I found that setting up a custom automation in the Alexa app allows me to trigger notifications based on camera events. It’s a small feature, but it adds a nice layer of convenience to my smart home setup.
