Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home devices lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips with you all. ![]()
Starting off, I recently installed a set of Govee RGBIC lights in my bedroom, and they’ve completely transformed the space!
The color synchronization with my music is amazing, and it’s been a blast experimenting with different lighting modes. If you’re into DIY projects, I highly recommend checking out the Govee community for some inspiring ideas! ![]()
On the practical side, I’ve been working with a Universal Binary Sensor for temperature monitoring. While I managed to get the temperature readings showing up in the Homey app, I struggled with integrating them into automated flows. After some research and trial and error, I figured out how to set up a push notification that alerts me every few hours with the current temperature. It’s a small win, but it makes a big difference in keeping my home environment comfortable! ![]()
Another thing I’ve been curious about is setting up a wake-up routine using my Google Home Hub. I’d love to have the alarm sound from Homey play through my Google device, but I’m not quite sure how to make that happen yet. If anyone has experience with this or knows a workaround, I’d love to hear your thoughts! ![]()
Overall, this journey into smart home tech has been both challenging and rewarding. It’s amazing how these devices can enhance our daily lives, and I’m excited to see what other innovations I can incorporate into my home. If you’re just starting out, don’t hesitate to ask questions or share your own experiences—I’m always happy to help! ![]()
