Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience with the Govee String Downlights (H608A). I’ve been looking for a way to enhance the ambiance in my family room, and these lights have exceeded my expectations. The installation process was incredibly straightforward—I didn’t even need to cut the string, which was about 16.4 feet long. The video I took shows just how easy it was to set everything up!
One thing I noticed was the variety of scenes available—around 60 to 65 in total. I’ve experimented with some of them, and they truly add a unique touch to the room. I also had the chance to try out some custom scenes created by other users, which was a nice surprise. A tip for anyone considering these lights: I set the brightness to 45%, as 100% felt too intense for indoor use. It’s just right for movie nights, music sessions, or even casual gatherings.
While I love these lights, I do wish they were a bit smaller. If you’re into outdoor lighting, I’d recommend checking out Govee’s outdoor options—they’re absolutely stunning. Dave has a video on his installation, so if you’re curious, give it a look!
Overall, I’m thrilled with how this project turned out. It’s been a great way to experiment with smart lighting and integrate it into my daily life. I’m already brainstorming new ways to use these lights for different events and occasions. Govee, thank you for creating such a fantastic product! ![]()
If anyone else has tried these lights or has tips to share, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
