Exploring Govee Strip Lights 2 Pro and Smart Lighting Automation

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with the Govee Strip Lights 2 Pro and how it’s transformed my home lighting setup. After waiting for some custom LED strip light baseboards to arrive, I decided to dive into the new Govee product line. The difference between the old Govee RGBIC Pro and the new Strip Lights 2 Pro is night and day! The brightness and color vibrancy are unmatched, and the new five-in-one chip makes the color transitions incredibly smooth. I’m truly impressed and can’t wait to install them in my home. Huge shoutout to Govee for creating such an amazing product!

On another note, I’ve been working on setting up a complex lighting automation system using OpenHAB on my Raspberry Pi. Each lighting panel group consists of a Switch, Dimmer, and Colour Temperature controller. The goal is to have these lights function seamlessly in manual and auto modes. When auto mode is on, the lights should respond to motion sensors, time of day, and other scenes without any user intervention. However, I’ve encountered a challenge where manually adjusting the lights turns off the auto mode. I’ve tried a few workarounds, like distinguishing custom commands, but it’s been a bit tricky. If anyone has experience with similar setups or suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

Lastly, I’d like to share a fun family moment. My kids were fascinated by the new lights and even helped me set up some scenes. It’s been a great way to involve them in the smart home experience and teach them a bit about technology. Overall, it’s been a rewarding journey, and I’m excited to see how much further I can take this setup. Thanks for reading, and happy smart home exploring! :rocket:
