Exploring Govee's New Lava Lamps and Solax Solar Data Integration

Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home gadgets lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips with you all. First off, I recently got my hands on Govee’s new lava lamps, and I must say, they’re absolutely stunning! The blue effects are mesmerizing, and they’ve really added a unique vibe to my living room. However, I did run into a small issue when trying to apply these effects to my Govee table lamp 2—I guess the firmware doesn’t support it yet. But hey, it’s a minor hiccup, and I’m sure Govee will sort it out soon!

On another note, I’ve been working on integrating my Solax solar panels into Home Assistant. While the native integration works for newer devices, I had to get creative with older ones. I ended up using the REST API to pull data from the Solax cloud service. It’s a bit of a workaround, but it’s been working like a charm! I set up multiple REST sensors to monitor different metrics like AC power and daily yield. The only downside is the API’s update frequency, but in practice, it updates every 5 minutes or so, which is more than enough for my needs.

I also wanted to touch on the Airthings_ble integration. I recently purchased the Wave Plus and Wave Enhance, and while the Wave Plus was recognized instantly, the Wave Enhance gave me some trouble. It wasn’t being detected by Airthings_ble, even though the documentation said it should be supported. After some research, I realized it might be an issue with the package being outdated. I’m now looking into how to update it properly using pip freeze. If anyone has any tips or solutions, I’d be grateful!

Lastly, I wanted to mention the Wyze Pan Cam’s favorite view feature. It’s such a useful addition for my restaurant’s surveillance. Being able to save and recall specific angles makes monitoring much more efficient. I’m hoping more features like this will roll out soon!

Overall, it’s been a whirlwind of learning and tweaking, but I’m loving every minute of it. Thanks to this amazing community for all the support and inspiration! Here’s to more smart home adventures ahead! :star2:
