Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of home automation monitoring lately and decided to set up Grafana and InfluxDB to keep an eye on my smart devices. It’s been an exciting journey so far, but I’ve hit a bit of a snag that I’m hoping the community can help with.
I managed to get Grafana and InfluxDB running on my Raspberry Pi, and it’s impressive how much data I can visualize. I’ve set up dashboards to track everything from my thermostat’s temperature to my smart lights’ brightness levels. The initial setup was a breeze using the openHABian-config menu, which made me wonder why I didn’t try this sooner!
But here’s where I’m stuck: I can only seem to pull data for one device at a time. For instance, if I want to monitor all my smart lights’ brightness levels, I have to add each one manually. It’s not the most efficient use of my time, especially with so many devices in the mix. I’ve tried looking into InfluxDB queries, but I’m not quite sure how to structure them to grab data from multiple sources simultaneously.
I’ve read through some tutorials and community posts, and it seems like others have found solutions, but I’m still not quite there. I’m curious if anyone has tips on how to streamline this process or if there’s a smarter way to query my data without having to adjust each graph individually.
I’d love to hear how others have set up their monitoring systems. Maybe there’s a trick or a best practice I’m missing out on. The goal is to make my dashboards as informative and efficient as possible, so I can keep an eye on everything without getting bogged down in the details.
If anyone has some insights or resources they could share, I’d be really grateful! Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other make the most out of these powerful tools. Happy monitoring! ![]()
