I’ve recently become interested in monitoring my system’s hardware temperatures and fan speeds within Home Assistant. After experiencing an issue where my PC fan stopped working, I realized the importance of having real-time monitoring to prevent potential hardware damage.
Initially, I tried using Open Hardware Monitor, but unfortunately, it didn’t integrate smoothly with my setup. I’m running Home Assistant on a virtual machine through Windows, which complicates things since VMs don’t have direct access to hardware-level information. I’m curious if anyone has successfully used alternative tools or methods for this purpose.
I’d love to set up alerts for critical temperatures and low fan RPMs. Has anyone implemented a similar system and could share their configuration or tips? Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
