I’ve been diving into the world of home automation recently, and I must say, it’s been a fascinating journey! One of the devices I’ve been particularly impressed with is the Xiaomi sensor range. I’ve been using a temperature/humidity/pressure sensor and a motion sensor in my setup, and they’ve been performing exceptionally well. However, I ran into an interesting issue when I decided to move these sensors from one gateway to another. The logs started showing errors about duplicate entity IDs, which was a bit puzzling at first. After some digging, I realized that the sensors were still linked to their original gateway in some configuration files. I managed to resolve this by carefully updating the entity registry and ensuring that the new gateway was properly set up. It’s been a great learning experience, and now my sensors are working seamlessly with the new gateway. I’m really enjoying how these devices integrate into my smart home ecosystem, and I’m excited to explore more possibilities with them!
