I’m really excited about the recent release of the HomeKit integration in Habitat Elevation. I’ve been experimenting with the beta version, and it’s been a fantastic experience so far, especially with my Z-Wave devices. The performance is smooth, and I’m thoroughly enjoying the seamless integration with my ecosystem. However, I’ve encountered a minor issue that I’m hoping the community can help me resolve.
The challenge I’m facing is exposing virtual switches or contact sensors to the HomeKit app. I’ve successfully created a virtual device to control my Atom Smart Wi-Fi lights, which are integrated with Alexa. While Alexa recognizes the virtual device without any issues, I’m unable to expose it within the HomeKit app for selection. I’ve reviewed the release notes, which mention that custom virtual devices aren’t supported, but I’m not entirely sure if my setup falls under that category. Any insights or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!
