Exploring Homematic Actor Hardware Integration

Hello everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of Homematic actor hardware lately and wanted to share my experiences and some questions I’ve encountered along the way.

I recently built a Homematic Actor Hardware using the Arduino AskSinPP Library and the Firmware from GitHub. It’s designed to function like a standard HM-LC-Bl1-FM roller shutter actor but with the added capability of two roller shutter channels. This dual-channel feature opens up a lot of possibilities for home automation, especially for those looking to control multiple devices from a single unit.

I’ve been using Homegear with a CC1101 SPI module on the same Raspberry Pi as my openHAB setup. The detection of both channels works perfectly on Homegear and even on a CCU, which is great. However, when it comes to integrating this with openHAB, I’ve hit a snag. The thing only recognizes the first channel, and manually adding a second by changing the channel number doesn’t seem to work.

I’m wondering if this is an issue with the Homegear configuration or if it’s something on the openHAB side. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any insights or suggestions would be incredibly helpful.

On another note, I’ve also been experimenting with Wyze cameras and noticed some concerns about security. My wife was worried about unauthorized access, especially since changing the password on one device doesn’t seem to affect the others. This made me think about how secure these devices truly are and whether there are additional steps we can take to enhance security.

Lastly, I’ve been exploring the integration of Z-Wave and Zigbee devices in my setup. With multiple sensors and devices spread out in my home, I’m considering adding a combo unit that can extend the range for both technologies. Does anyone have experience with such devices or know of any reliable options?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on these topics. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other navigate the exciting world of smart home automation!
