Buttons: For a sleek look, I’ve been eyeing the Hue Smart Buttons. However, if you’re looking to save, the Ikea Dimmer Button is a great alternative. It’s important to choose buttons that not only fit your aesthetic but also integrate well with your system.
Lights: I’ve had some mixed experiences with downlights. The Mercator IKUU downlights are on my list to try, especially for their color and brightness options. When setting up rooms with varying light needs, consider using smart downlights with adjustable color temperatures to mimic natural light changes throughout the day.
One challenge I’m tackling is creating automation rules that adapt to daily routines. For instance, setting up motion sensors in hallways and bathrooms to adjust color temperatures based on time of day. I’m also exploring how to temporarily disable these rules, which would be incredibly handy for guests or specific events.
Voice control via Google Home has been a breeze, but I’m still figuring out the best way to manage my Fujitsu central air conditioning unit. If anyone has tips on integrating HVAC systems with Hubitat, I’d love to hear them!
