Exploring Hubitat Integration with Existing Smart Home Setup

Hi everyone, I’m thrilled to share my recent adventure into the world of Hubitat! After some research and seeing it available again, I decided to take the plunge and purchased a Hubitat Elevation. It’s on its way, and now feels like the perfect time to dive deep into the research phase.

I’ve been running a mostly WiFi-based smart home setup, with a mix of SmartThings sensors and some Sengled lights on the Z protocols. Additionally, I’ve got a few Notion sensors that were gifted to me by my home insurance company—a quirky start to my home automation journey!

One of my primary questions is whether I can keep my SmartThings hub or if I’ll need to replace it with Hubitat. I’m leaning toward replacing it, but it’s always good to confirm. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s successfully integrated multiple hubs or has insights on how they can coexist seamlessly.

Another area I’m excited to explore is motion sensors. I’ve heard great things about their sensitivity and control options, which is exactly what I need for my hall lights. I want them to activate when a person (but not a curious cat!) moves around at night. I’m eager to see what the Hubitat ecosystem offers in this space.

I’m also looking forward to discovering how Hubitat can enhance my existing setup. Whether it’s better integration with my Sengled lights or finding innovative ways to utilize my Notion sensors, I’m ready to experiment and learn.

If anyone has tips, tricks, or recommendations for a smooth transition to Hubitat, I’d be grateful to hear them! I’m excited to see how this new addition will elevate my smart home experience. Let’s make this integration process as seamless and enjoyable as possible! :rocket:
