Exploring LED Lighting and Camera Integration

Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home technology lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with you all. Hopefully, this can spark some interesting discussions!

First off, I’ve been experimenting with LED lighting, specifically the Govee H6146S bulbs. I recently discovered that these bulbs light up when touched, which I found out isn’t normal behavior. I was unaware of this issue before, and it’s a bit concerning. Does anyone else have this problem with their LED strands? I’d love to hear if others have encountered this and if there’s a fix or if it’s just a specific issue with my bulbs.

On another note, I’ve been working on integrating my Arlo cameras with a T-Mobile hotspot for my upcoming stay in a hotel. I’m a bit nervous about relying on cellular connectivity for security, but it seems like the only secure option. I’m curious if anyone has experience using Arlo cameras with a 3G connection. Would it be stable enough for reliable monitoring? I’d appreciate any insights or alternative suggestions!

Another topic I’ve been exploring is the integration of Z-Wave devices. I recently upgraded my Z-Wave binding to version 2.5.7, and unfortunately, it caused some devices to stop working, even though they still show as online in the UI. I’ve tried troubleshooting by resetting the devices and checking network settings, but nothing seems to resolve the issue. Has anyone else faced this after an update? Any tips on how to get the devices back online without a full reinstallation?

Lastly, I’ve been trying to set up a scene where pressing and holding a button on my ZRC-90 scene controller dims the lights. I have a Fibaro 2 dimmer connected to Vera Plus, but I can’t figure out how to enable the dimming function while holding the button. Is this even possible with the current setup, or do I need to adjust my configuration?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on these topics. Whether it’s LED quirks, cellular camera setups, Z-Wave troubleshooting, or scene automation, your insights would be invaluable!

Cheers,
