I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of tracking home automation data over extended periods. It’s incredible how much insight you can gain from observing trends over time! 
Recently, I stumbled upon the Energy Dashboard feature in Home Assistant, which provides a fantastic way to visualize energy consumption patterns. Inspired by this, I started thinking about other types of data that could benefit from a similar long-term tracking approach. Imagine having a dashboard that not only shows your daily energy usage but also tracks metrics like rainfall, average temperature, heating oil consumption, or even vehicle mileage! 
One idea I’m particularly excited about is creating a dashboard that displays daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly rainfall data. Combining this with historical comparisons could help identify seasonal patterns or unusual weather events. It would be amazing to see how this year’s rainfall in May stacks up against previous years! 
I’m also curious about tracking average indoor temperatures and how they correlate with heating or cooling needs. This could potentially lead to more efficient energy usage and cost savings. 
To get started, I plan to leverage existing integrations and sensors in my setup. I’m wondering if others have experience with similar projects or have tips on the best way to structure such a dashboard. Have you tried visualizing long-term data in your home automation setup?
