Exploring MQTT Integration and ZWave Device Setup

Hey everyone, I’m diving into the world of MQTT and ZWave devices, and I wanted to share my experiences and ask for some advice! :rocket:

First off, I’ve been trying to set up MQTT on my Proxmox server to integrate with Home Assistant. I followed the guide to create a VM, set up user authentication, and even configured a Let’s Encrypt certificate with DuckDNS. The broker seems to be running smoothly, but I’m hitting a snag when trying to connect to it through Home Assistant. I’ve set up two domains on DuckDNS—mydomain.duckdns.org and mydomainmqtt.duckdns.org—and I’m using port 8883 with TLS. However, when I input these details into HA, it doesn’t seem to connect. I’m wondering if having two domains on a single DuckDNS account is causing issues or if there’s something wrong with my configuration.yaml file. Any insights would be super helpful! :eyes:

On another note, I’ve also been experimenting with ZWave devices. I recently installed a ZMatter ZWave board on my Polisy system, and it worked perfectly for two days. But after a reboot, the board stopped being recognized. I’ve tried reseating it and reinstalling, but nothing seems to work. The logs show some activity, but it’s not detecting the ZMatter board properly. I’m reaching out to support, but I’m curious if anyone else has encountered similar issues or has any troubleshooting tips.

I’m really enjoying the journey of setting up my smart home, but these hiccups are keeping me on my toes. If anyone has advice on MQTT configuration or ZWave troubleshooting, I’d be grateful to hear it! Let’s keep the community spirit alive and help each other out. :muscle:
