Hi everyone, I recently discovered Hue Essentials and it’s been a game-changer for my smart home setup! I wanted to share my experience and ask for some advice on a challenge I’m facing with multi-bridge automation.
I moved from an Aqara hub to Conbee 2/Deconz and now have two Hue bridges—one for my Aqara sensors and another for my Hue lamps. The setup is impressive, but I’m running into an issue when trying to create an automation. Specifically, when configuring an Aqara sensor in the Hue Essentials app, I can only access scenes and groups from the Conbee 2 bridge, not the Hue bridge. This is frustrating because the whole point of having multiple bridges is to integrate both setups seamlessly.
I upgraded to the premium version to enable multi-bridge support, so I’m hopeful there’s a solution out there. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any tips or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!
On a positive note, I’ve been experimenting with creating custom scenes and automations, and it’s really opened up possibilities for my home. For example, I set up a scene where my Hue bulbs dim gradually as I arm my security system. It’s these little touches that make the smart home experience truly special.
I’m also curious about how others manage their multi-bridge setups. Do you find it easier to stick with one brand, or do you mix and match? I’d love to hear your strategies for keeping everything organized and functional.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your insights!
