Exploring Network Repair and System Variable Challenges

Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into some interesting challenges with my smart home setup and thought I’d share my experiences and questions with you all. Hopefully, someone might have some insights or tips to share!

1. Network Repair Mystery
I recently moved an Aeon Door sensor to a different location in my house, and since then, the notifications have been a bit erratic. I tried running the Network Repair tool from the Hub’s Utilities section, but when I check the Events List page during the repair, it’s completely blank. I’m curious if there’s a way to confirm whether Network Repair is actually running or if it’s just appearing inactive. Has anyone encountered this before or know of a workaround?

2. System Variables and WebUI Programs
I’ve been working on a project where I’ve defined 16 system variables to control LED statuses in my hallway. Each LED changes color based on the variable’s state—green for closed, orange for partially open, and red for fully open. The setup works perfectly when using devices directly, but I’m running into an issue with system variables. When I create a program to trigger LED changes based on the variable states, only the “Sonst wenn” (else if) conditions work, while the initial “Wenn” (if) condition doesn’t trigger. I’ve tried resetting the variables and adjusting the program structure, but the problem persists. Does anyone have any ideas on why this might be happening or how to fix it?

3. Advanced Automation with Energy Monitoring
Another project I’ve been working on involves creating an advanced flow to control heating in my bathrooms based on energy usage. I’ve set it up so that if the energy consumption exceeds 4.8 kWh, the heating turns off. However, I want this to happen only if the energy stays above that threshold for 20 seconds. I added a timer in the flow, but I’m not sure if it’s delaying the action or actually achieving the desired effect. I’d love to hear if anyone has experience with similar automation setups and how they handle such conditions.

4. Sensor Calibration and Network Stability
Lastly, I’ve been dealing with a Shelly Motion sensor that’s reporting zero lux even in well-lit conditions. I’ve tried resetting it multiple times and adjusting the sensitivity settings, but nothing seems to work. It’s crucial for my setup as I rely on it to trigger lights only when it’s dark. If anyone has encountered a similar issue or knows of a fix, I’d be really grateful for the advice!

I’m really enjoying exploring the capabilities of my smart home system, and I’m excited to see how these challenges can be overcome. Let me know your thoughts or if you’ve faced similar issues!

Cheers,
