Exploring Osram LIGHTIFY GardenSpot Mini RGB: A Colorful Experience

As a smart home enthusiast, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my Osram LIGHTIFY GardenSpot Mini RGB lights. These little gems have added a vibrant touch to my outdoor spaces, especially with their color loop feature. I’ve been using the Device Type Handler (DTH) mentioned in the community forums, which allows me to control the lights through sliders for hue, saturation, and transition time. It’s been a blast experimenting with different color combinations and creating some cozy ambiance for evening gatherings.

One thing I’ve noticed is that without the Osram Gateway, the color loop functionality doesn’t work as smoothly as I’d like. However, by using the “hueLoop” and “hueRandom” attributes in the DTH, I’ve managed to set up a CoRE Piston to create a dynamic color loop effect. It’s a bit of a workaround, but it gets the job done!

I’m curious if anyone else is using these lights and has tips on optimizing their performance. Also, I’d love to hear if there are updates or plans for better firmware support to enhance the color loop functionality without needing the gateway. If anyone has insights or experiences to share, I’d be thrilled to learn more!

Overall, I’m really satisfied with how these lights have transformed my backyard. The ability to change colors on the fly adds a fun element to entertaining and just enjoying the outdoors. Here’s to more innovative smart lighting solutions!
