Exploring Presence Detection and Door Lock Automation

I’ve been experimenting with setting up a rule to lock the front door automatically when both Tom and Lynn leave the house. The idea is simple: when we’re not present, the door should lock to enhance security. However, I’ve noticed some inconsistencies in how this rule behaves. Sometimes, when we leave, the dashboard correctly shows that we’re not present, but the front door doesn’t lock as expected. This has happened several times, and it’s a bit concerning. When the door doesn’t lock, I end up manually locking it after a few minutes, which defeats the purpose of the automation. I’m curious if others have encountered similar issues or if there are specific settings or configurations that can help make this rule more reliable. It would be great to hear from anyone who has successfully implemented a similar setup or can offer troubleshooting tips. Additionally, I’m wondering if there are any best practices for ensuring consistent behavior in presence detection systems, especially with multiple users. Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
