Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home integration and wanted to share my recent experiences with integrating my Samsung TV and using Shelly buttons for remote control. It’s been a fascinating journey with both successes and a few hurdles to overcome!
First, I must say that the Samsung TV integration in Home Assistant has been a breeze. I followed the official documentation, and within minutes, my TV was seamlessly integrated. The ability to control the TV through voice commands or even custom scenes has transformed my living room experience. It’s incredibly satisfying to walk in and have the TV power on and start playing my favorite playlist with just a simple command.
Now, onto the Shelly buttons—I’ve been really impressed with their versatility. I set up a couple of single-button Shellys to control my TV. A single press pauses or plays the current content, which is perfect for when I want to quickly pause a show. A double press, on the other hand, turns the TV on and opens Plex, which is where I store all my media. This setup has made my entertainment system feel more integrated and user-friendly.
Where I’m hitting a snag, however, is with Netflix. I’ve been trying to get Netflix to launch through the same setup, but I can’t seem to get the right curl command. I’ve tried several variations I found online, but they all seem to be for older TV models. Does anyone have a working curl command for Netflix on the Samsung QE50QN90CATXXU? I’d really appreciate any guidance or suggestions!
I’m also curious if anyone else has tried integrating their Samsung TV and Shelly buttons in a similar way. Have you encountered any unique challenges or found innovative solutions? I’d love to hear about your experiences and any tips you might have for optimizing this setup!
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing from you all!
