Hi everyone, I’m currently in the process of upgrading my home heating system and I’m on the hunt for a smart gas boiler that can seamlessly integrate with my existing home automation setup. While I’ve done some research, I’m still a bit overwhelmed by the options out there, so I thought I’d reach out to the community for some guidance.
From what I’ve gathered, there are a few standout models that seem to have decent smart features. The Vaillant VU 25CS/1-5 ecoTEC caught my eye because of its eco-friendly reputation and the fact that it has some smart capabilities, though it does rely on a cloud portal for integration. I’m not entirely opposed to cloud-based solutions, but I do prefer systems that allow for more local control.
Then there’s the Viessmann Vitodens 100 W 24 kW. I’ve heard great things about Viessmann’s products, and the fact that it offers a Vitoconnect API gives me hope that it might be more compatible with my HA setup. I found a community thread discussing a Viessmann component for HA, which is promising, but I’d love to hear from someone who’s actually using it in their home.
The Buderus Logamax plus GB122i-24 is another contender. I’m not entirely sure about its smart features, but I know Buderus has a solid reputation in the heating industry. I’m curious if anyone has experience with the Logamatic RC310 controller and how it works with smart systems.
Lastly, the Junkers ZSBR 28-3E is on my list because I already have some Junkers products, and I appreciate their reliability. I’m not sure about its smart capabilities, though. Does it support OpenTherm or have any other smart features worth exploring?
I’m also thinking about how these boilers will integrate with my existing smart devices. I have a mix of brands and protocols, so compatibility is a big concern. Has anyone successfully integrated a boiler from these brands with HA or other platforms? Any tips on ensuring a smooth setup would be greatly appreciated!
I’m really excited about the potential of having a smart boiler that can be controlled and monitored through my HA system. It would be amazing to set temperature schedules, track energy usage, and even get alerts if something goes wrong—all from my smartphone or the HA dashboard.
If anyone has personal experiences, recommendations, or troubleshooting tips, I’d love to hear them! Let’s make this heating upgrade as seamless and efficient as possible.
