Exploring Smart Home Automation with Vera Lite and Govee

As a new homeowner, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation, and it’s been an exciting journey! I recently purchased Vera Lite to manage my smart devices, and while it’s been a great experience overall, I’ve encountered a few challenges that I’m hoping the community can help with.

First, I’ve been experimenting with the Vision ZP3102 and Zipato 4-in-1 sensors. Both devices added to the Vera Lite controller without any initial issues, but after a short while, they stop responding. I can only reactivate them by manually pressing the button on the sensor. This has been a bit frustrating, and I’m wondering if these sensors are incompatible with Vera Lite or if there’s a setting I’m missing. Has anyone else faced this issue, or can you suggest a workaround?

On a more positive note, I’ve been absolutely thrilled with my Govee smart lights. They’ve transformed my home into a cozy, ambiance-filled space. However, I’ve noticed a minor bug with the voice commands for the Allure ground lights. When I try to activate the preset “warm” scene, it only changes the light color to warm white instead of triggering the scene I’ve set up. I’ve reached out to Govee about this, and I’m hopeful they’ll resolve it soon. In the meantime, I’ve been using manual controls, which still work perfectly.

Another area I’ve been exploring is scheduling my floodlights to stay on overnight on specific days. I’m curious if anyone has successfully set up a reliable schedule for this, especially during power outages or internet disruptions. I’d love to hear about your experiences and any tips you might have.

Lastly, I’ve been thinking about how to integrate more devices into my smart home ecosystem. I’m particularly interested in finding a reliable, dimmable wall plug that works seamlessly with my LED filament lamps. After some research, I’ve come across the Schneider Electric Merten thermostat, but I’m still exploring how to set it up properly. If anyone has insights or recommendations, I’d greatly appreciate it!

Overall, my journey with Vera Lite and Govee has been filled with both triumphs and a few hurdles. I’m excited to continue learning and improving my smart home setup. Thanks to everyone in the community for your support and shared knowledge—it’s truly invaluable!
