I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation over the past few weeks, and it’s been an exciting journey! I started with Wyze devices, primarily their thermostats and cameras, and I must say, the integration has been seamless. One thing that caught my attention was the message “Enjoy your sleep” appearing on my Wyze thermostat. I set up a schedule, so it should be in Home mode, but this message keeps popping up. I’m curious if others have experienced this or if there’s a setting I might have missed.
Moving on to cameras, I have about 15 Wyze cameras, and while the app allows me to view four at a time, scrolling through pages isn’t ideal. I’ve tried Web View, which shows more, but arranging them is tricky. I’d love to see all feeds at once without constant scrolling. Maybe there’s a workaround or a feature I haven’t discovered yet?
Switching gears, I’ve also been exploring Nest products, particularly their thermostats and cameras. The integration with my existing smart home setup has been smooth, but I’m intrigued by the possibility of automating more aspects, like adjusting lighting based on external temperature. Imagine the lights changing color depending on how cold it is outside—wouldn’t that be a fun way to add some personality to my home?
Another area I’m experimenting with is voice control. I’ve set up routines using my Google Mini, and it’s been a great way to streamline my morning routine. However, I’m looking to expand this by integrating more devices and automations. For instance, I’d love to have my lights adjust based on my schedule and the time of day.
I’m also considering adding more smart switches to replace my traditional ones. Leviton’s VRMX1-1LZ and VRE06-1LZ seem like solid options, but I’m not entirely sure about the best way to set up a 3-way configuration. Any insights or recommendations would be appreciated!
Overall, this journey into smart home automation has been both challenging and rewarding. Each new device or feature I discover adds a layer of convenience and comfort to my home. I’m excited to continue exploring and learning from the community here. If anyone has tips, tricks, or experiences to share, I’d love to hear them!
