Hi everyone, I’m really enjoying diving into the world of smart home devices! I’ve been experimenting with a few gadgets lately and wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with you all.
First off, I recently set up a Fibaro Dimmer 2 to control some LED lights in my living room. It’s been working great, but I noticed that I can’t dim the lights below 1%, which is a bit of a letdown since I want them to be even softer for evenings. Does anyone know if there’s a workaround for this? I’d love to hear if others have encountered the same issue or found a solution!
Another thing I’ve been curious about is the integration of Y-Cam cameras into my smart home setup. I heard that Y-Cam is discontinuing their stream support soon, and I’m wondering if anyone has successfully set up an offline bridge or workaround. It would be a shame to lose functionality, so I’m eager to explore alternatives or fixes.
On a more positive note, I’ve been really impressed with the Govee RGBW2 LED strips. They’re so versatile, and I love how I can set them to different colors and brightness levels. I even created a fun scene where the lights change color based on the time of day. It adds such a nice touch to my home!
I also wanted to ask about hidden zones in smart home apps. I set up a zone to detect when I’m near my house to trigger some automations, but it keeps showing up on the map even though I marked it as hidden. Is there a way to completely remove it from the interface? I’d love to keep my dashboard clean and focused on the essentials.
Lastly, I stumbled upon a really cool feature while configuring my Shelly RGBW2. I found out that you can set default colors when the device powers on, which is super handy. I use it to automatically turn on the white channel in the morning, making my space feel bright and welcoming right away. If anyone else is looking to do something similar, I’d be happy to share my setup!
I’m really enjoying the journey of customizing my smart home, and I can’t wait to see what other awesome features and devices I can add. If anyone has tips or experiences to share, I’d love to hear them! Thanks for being such an amazing community. ![]()
