Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to join this community and share my journey into the world of smart home technology. My adventure began a few years ago with some basic WLAN outlets, and since then, I’ve gradually expanded my setup. Currently, I’m using a mix of devices from various brands, including Telekom, Shelly, and Wyze, which has led me to explore more advanced systems like Home Assistant.
One area I’m particularly focused on is integrating my existing devices with Home Assistant. I’ve successfully connected some of my door/window sensors to my FritzBox, but I’m facing an issue with latency—around 30 seconds—before the information reaches Home Assistant. This delay works for heating control but isn’t ideal for real-time notifications or lighting adjustments. I’m curious if anyone has found a way to reduce this latency or if there’s a workaround for achieving near-instantaneous responses.
Another challenge I’m tackling is the integration of my Bosch Indego mower robot. While there was an integration available at one point, it no longer works, and I’m not sure how to proceed. Any insights or recommendations on how to get this working would be greatly appreciated!
I’m also exploring the use of virtual thermostats and have been experimenting with tools like VThermo and Homey Heating Scheduler. However, I’m struggling to get them to monitor the current temperature from my Aqara sensors accurately. If anyone has successfully set up a virtual thermostat using multiple sensors, I’d love to hear about your approach.
On a more positive note, I’ve discovered the value of using ProxMox, InfluxDB, and Grafana for monitoring and data visualization. It’s been a great way to keep track of energy consumption and system performance. I’m also enjoying the flexibility of having a ThinkCentre with an i5 processor, which has become the backbone of my smart home setup.
I’m excited to connect with others who share my passion for smart home technology and learn from their experiences. Whether it’s troubleshooting device integrations, optimizing system performance, or simply sharing tips and tricks, I look forward to being an active part of this community. Thanks in advance for your guidance and support! ![]()
