Hey everyone, I wanted to share some of my recent experiences with integrating various smart home devices. It’s been an exciting journey, but not without its hurdles!
First off, I’ve been experimenting with Fibaro Door/Window Sensors and trying to get them fully functional with my Vera system. While they pair without issues, getting all the features to work properly has been a bit of a puzzle. Luckily, I stumbled upon some helpful workarounds in this very community, and I’m thrilled to say they’re now working like a charm!
Another highlight has been my experience with Nest thermostats. I’ve been using Watou’s Nest plugin on UI7, and it’s been a game-changer for managing my heating and cooling. The ability to monitor and adjust temperatures remotely has made life so much easier. A minor issue with temperature rounding was a minor inconvenience, but the plugin’s overall performance has been impressive. Kudos to Watou for such a robust solution!
On the topic of lighting, I’ve been exploring some Govee LED strips and am blown away by their versatility. The app integration is seamless, and the color schemes are perfect for creating different moods around the house. It’s little touches like these that really make a smart home feel like home.
