I’ve recently started diving into the world of smart home devices, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! One of the devices that caught my attention is the Lidl Silvercrest Motion Sensor. I’ve been using it alongside Home Assistant, and while it’s been a great addition to my setup, there’s something that’s been puzzling me.
The sensor itself works perfectly—it detects motion and even alerts me if there’s any tampering. However, I noticed that the battery status isn’t displayed on the sensor within Home Assistant. This is a bit concerning because, as someone who values energy efficiency, knowing when to replace the battery is crucial. I did some digging and found that the data for the battery status is indeed available, but it doesn’t seem to update dynamically. I’ve started experimenting with different batteries to see if the number changes, but it’s still unclear how reliable this feature is.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that the device indicator on deCONZ doesn’t show the battery icon. I wonder if this is something that’s still in the works or if there’s a workaround I can try. I’ve reached out to the community to see if anyone else is experiencing the same issue or has found a solution.
While this might seem like a minor inconvenience, having real-time battery status updates would definitely add to the convenience and reliability of the sensor. I’m hopeful that this feature will be implemented in future updates. In the meantime, I’ll keep experimenting and sharing my findings with the community!
It’s amazing how even the smallest features can make such a big difference in the user experience. I’m looking forward to seeing how this device evolves and how the community continues to support and improve it.
