Exploring Smart Home Integration with Shelly and Zigbee

Hello fellow smart home enthusiasts! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation and wanted to share some of my experiences and seek advice from the community.

Recently, I’ve been experimenting with Shelly devices, particularly the Shelly Plus 2PM. It’s been a fantastic addition to my setup, controlling my pool pump and heater with ease. The ability to automate based on temperature readings has been a game-changer, ensuring my pool is always at the perfect temperature. However, I did run into an issue where a saved automation rule seemed to disappear. After some troubleshooting, I realized it might have been a glitch, but I’m curious if others have encountered similar issues or have tips to prevent this from happening in the future.

Another area I’m exploring is Zigbee integration. I’ve recently added some Aqara sensors and am impressed with their reliability and range. However, I’ve noticed that the coverage isn’t as extensive as I’d like, especially in a multi-level home. I’m considering adding more Zigbee capable devices to act as repeaters. Does anyone have recommendations on the best devices for this purpose, or tips on optimizing Zigbee network coverage?

On a lighter note, I’d love to hear about others’ success stories with integrating multiple brands into a cohesive system. I’m particularly interested in how you handle the flow of notifications and actions without overwhelming the system. Any best practices or tools you’d recommend for managing a diverse ecosystem?

Thank you all for your insights and experiences. It’s amazing to be part of such a supportive and innovative community!
