I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation with OpenHAB, and it’s been an incredible journey! From setting up my first smart lights to integrating various sensors and devices, I’ve learned so much along the way. One of my favorite projects has been creating a scene that adjusts the lighting based on the time of day and whether it’s sunny or cloudy outside. It’s such a small thing, but it makes a big difference in how the space feels.
I’ve also been experimenting with water sensors and flood detection systems. While I’ve encountered some challenges, like inconsistent sensor readings, I’ve found some great solutions through the community. For instance, one user shared a macro that integrates water sensors with a FI-trenner, which has been a lifesaver for my home’s flood prevention system.
Another area I’ve been exploring is temperature monitoring. With the colder months approaching, I’ve been looking for reliable, mains-powered temperature sensors to protect my pipes. The community has been really helpful in sharing recommendations and tips for setting these up effectively.
