Exploring Smart Lighting Automation for My Patio

Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share my recent project with you! I’ve been diving into smart lighting automation for my patio, and it’s been a fascinating journey. I’ve been using Govee lights for a while now, and they’ve been a game-changer for my outdoor space.

I recently installed a 50-foot string of LED lights around my gazebo, and I’ve integrated them into my daily routines. Currently, I’m using the built-in scenes in the Govee app, but I’m eager to create my own custom automation this weekend. Here’s what I have in mind:

  • Twilight Mode: Activate 10 minutes before sunset with 85% brightness.
  • Sunset Mode: Kick in an hour later with 50% brightness.
  • Twinkle Night: Set 1.5 hours after sunset with 23% brightness for a cozy ambiance.
  • Auto-Off: Lights shut off at 1 AM for a restful night.

I also plan to add a Govee motion sensor for added security between 1 AM and 4:30 AM. It’s all about balancing convenience and safety!

I’m curious if anyone has tips on creating smooth transitions between these scenes or if there’s a way to integrate weather data to adjust the lighting based on conditions. Also, I noticed that the Govee motion sensors I wanted are no longer available in the store—have they been discontinued? If so, that’s a bit disappointing, but I’m still excited to work with what I have.

I’d love to hear your thoughts and any suggestions you might have for enhancing this setup. Let’s make my patio the talk of the neighborhood this summer! :cherry_blossom::sparkles:
