I’ve recently embarked on a home renovation project, and one of my goals is to enhance the lighting system in my living room. The current setup has two ceiling lights controlled by a single switch, which means both lights turn on and off together. While this works, I’d love to have more flexibility—specifically, the ability to control each light separately.
After some research, I came across the Fibaro Dimmer 2, which seemed like the perfect solution. These dimmers not only allow for individual control but also integrate seamlessly with smart home systems. I decided to wire them in a way that would allow me to replace the existing switches with smart ones, giving me the ability to control each light independently.
Here’s what I did: I rewired the existing two-way switches to connect directly to the Fibaro dimmers. This involved some careful planning to ensure that the power supply was correctly routed. I also made sure to cover any unused wires to maintain a clean setup. The result? Each light is now controlled by its own dimmer, and I can adjust the brightness individually using my smartphone or voice commands.
One thing I learned during this process is the importance of proper wiring and understanding the electrical connections. I also discovered that while the initial setup required some technical know-how, the end result was well worth the effort. The ability to create different lighting scenarios has completely transformed my living space.
If anyone has tips or suggestions for improving this setup further, I’d love to hear them! Whether it’s about adding more lights, integrating motion sensors, or even automating the lights based on time of day, I’m all ears. Happy to share my experience and learn from others as well!
