However, I did run into a bit of a hiccup when trying to sync my Sonoff MINIR4M switches with HomeKit. Initially, they worked perfectly through the Sonoff app, but as soon as I added them to HomeKit, they stopped responding after about an hour. They’d show as “no response,” and I couldn’t even re-add them without encountering connection timeouts. It was pretty frustrating, especially since I was looking to create some motion sensor-based automations.
After some research and troubleshooting, I discovered that resetting the devices and ensuring they were on the latest firmware update helped resolve the issue. It was a bit of a learning curve, but now everything runs smoothly!
One feature I’d love to see added to the Govee buttons is the ability to access music mode directly. I’ve been using them to control various devices, and being able to switch to music mode with a single press would make my setup even more versatile. Fingers crossed Govee hears this feedback!
Another thing I’ve been experimenting with is using ESPHome to customize my display setups. I’ve got a tank level sensor display that I wanted to tweak for better alignment. Through some trial and error with lambda code, I managed to get the percentage and volume readings to align neatly. It’s been a great way to learn more about coding and customization within the smart home ecosystem.
