Hey everyone, I’m diving into the world of smart lighting automation and I’m really excited to share my journey with you!
I recently came across the Philips Hue Labs integration and I’ve been experimenting with it to create some cool lighting effects. However, I’ve hit a bit of a snag and I’m hoping the community can help me out!
So, my goal is to enable some of my Hue lights in my living room when I’m away. I want the lights to mimic a TV being on, which would make it look like someone is home and deter potential intruders. I’ve tried setting up a blinking color cycle in a flow from Homey, but it doesn’t quite look like a TV playing. I’m wondering if anyone has successfully integrated Philips Hue Labs with Homey to achieve this effect. Any suggestions or tips would be amazing! ![]()
Another thing I’m curious about is how to automate the lights based on the TV’s status. If the TV is off, I want the lights to dim or turn off completely. Is there a way to link the TV’s power state to the Hue lights? I’m also thinking about adding a Fibaro switch to control the lights manually if needed. Would that interfere with the automation? I’m not sure, so I’d love to hear your thoughts!
On a positive note, I’ve managed to schedule some lights through Philips Hue Labs manually, but I’d love to have this fully integrated with Homey. It would be fantastic to check if the curtains are down and adjust the lighting accordingly. I’m really hoping someone has tackled this before and can share their setup or provide some guidance!
I’ve attached a few screenshots of my current setup if that helps. Feel free to ask any questions or suggest alternative approaches. I’m really looking forward to hearing from you all! ![]()
