Exploring Smart Lighting Automation with Shelly Pro Dimmer

As I delve deeper into the world of smart home automation, I’ve been experimenting with the Shelly Pro Dimmer 2PM for my lighting setup. It’s been an exciting journey, but not without its challenges. I’ve managed to set up a system where each room’s lighting circuit is controlled through scenes triggered by the Shelly BLU RC Button 4. Each button press (single, double, etc.) adjusts the brightness in predefined steps, creating a seamless and intuitive user experience. However, I’ve encountered an issue where the scenes, stored in the cloud, become inaccessible during internet outages. This has prompted me to explore local storage solutions, leveraging the devices’ static IP addresses. While I’ve tried utilizing Virtual Components/Groups, I’m still unclear on how to fully transition to a local setup. I’d love to hear from others who’ve successfully implemented similar systems or have insights into overcoming this cloud dependency. Your experiences and tips would be invaluable as I continue to refine my smart lighting automation setup.
